Facts about the perodua viva elite.

VIVA ELITE
I am a proud owner of a Perodua viva elite (manual), and  it's a very good town car for the price you pay, it gets you from "A" to "B" without much hassle.(please keep in mind that this is not a bad car at all, I'm merely pointing out a few things that you might want to look out for).

But i feel that the brake's could  have been about 15 to 20% better because at slow speed's the brakes are OK (not good but OK) but as soon as you go fast and want to stop suddenly you have to really step on the brake pedals and it will come to a bit of a slow stop. I would have loved it if my viva had a built in clock. And a light for the boot.

And the fuel consumption is OK too, it will do about 12.5 to about 13.5 km per liter of petrol, although the manufacturer may say it would do more..... trust me it wont, unless you drive without using the A/C then it might do about 13.7 km per liter. The fuel tank holds 36 liter's of petrol and for a full tank of fuel it would do approximately 450 to 480km.

And i do feel that ride height could have been a few inches more because when ever i go over a bit of a high bump the bottom of the car gets scratched.

and also i feel that the road noises heard in the cabin could be made about 15 to 20% lesser, with the road noises you may hear a few rattles and creaks that come with the factory fit I would give the build quality of the car a 5 out of ten (1being the worst and 10 a very good).

And the lights fog up a bit when it rain's.

the handling is also not that great I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as well.

The gear's could be about 10 to 15% smoother, the gear throw i feel is a bit long and a bit rough.

The OEM stereo again like most things in the car are not very good but it gets the job done.

The A\C I must say is good it cools fast and stays cool all along, even when the outside temperature is at about 32c 33c.

The overall ride is comfortable, the seats are good, and it has a lot of  leg room in the front, and overall it's very a roomy car for it's size boot space is also not too bad.

Inherent problems

The shock mountings need to be replaced every 15000 to 20000 km's.
The engine mountings need to be replaced every 50000 to 70000 km's.

THINGS YOU COULD DO TO MAKE YOUR VIVA BETTER.

You could put in NGK IRIDIUM spark plugs to make it perform just a bit better and reduce fuel consumption, the IRIDIUM plug's for the viva are (NGK BKR5EIX) or you can use PULSTAR plugs which would cost a lot more, the PULSTAR plugs are (BE1i)

And you could also put in a K&N custom made air filter which would make the car better and would reduce fuel consumption and increase power.

And you can mix X1R to the engine oil to make it smoother and it would reduce fuel consumption and increase power.

And you can use OSRAM night breaker plus head lights which has 90% more light (it will only last for about 10 to 15 month's).

I used BOSCH brake pads and now the brakes of the car feel's great.
